Approach
I believe that counseling is most effective when the client and therapist work together to identify strengths and areas of opportunity in an effort to create a richer life experience for the client. I believe that it is important to use treatments and techniques that have been carefully researched and found effective, so I take an evidence-based approach to therapy.
I have in-depth training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and experience using mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I pull from each of these domains to create a therapy experience that is tailored to the needs of each individual I work with.
